-Jay made aware first-hand of language and political divide in Belgium between French and Dutch (Flemish) speakers -he took French language lessons in Brussels, not in France, where he had, incidentally, just come from -took a quick trip to Luxembourg with a couple of days at the capital city, also named Luxembourg -early days of the internet; the internet's possible role in the entrenchment of English worldwide -schadenfreude; the advantage of speaking multiple languages -Jay met a Belgian in Casablanca, Morocco, in 2000. She speaks Flemish and lives in Ghent. They became friends; Jay has since visited her five times -Amsterdam, The Netherlands, was visited on his first trip from Haarlem -Dutch can be particular difficult for English speakers to pronounce; Van Gogh Museum; The Hague -This series has NOT been reclassified as a Lukeyo podcast series despite what I say on the episode.
