Bang! God creates the earth, and life. Hass finds verses about the creation story across the Quran; Jake looks to Genesis 1-3 in the Bible, claiming that the three chapters contain two (2!) creation stories. In both holy books, an evil being suggests disobedience to Adam and Eve and the two of them go along with it. In both, Hass and Jake agree, Adam is at least as responsible as Eve.
Abraham is the patriarch of three world-changing, long-lasting religions: Islam, Judaism, and Christianity, in that order. Hass and Jake tell his story as it appears in the Quran and the Bible, presenting traditional and their own interpretations. Abraham's first son is Ishmael, a prophet in the Quran; his second is Isaac, patriarch of the Jewish and, by extension, Christian faiths. (first recorded episode of series)
*Episodes on this list are in biblical order. While the Bible is chronologically arranged the Quran is not; the Quran is poetic, and its stories typically not chronologically compiled. Parts of the same story often appear in different chapters and without time references.
